US-based multinational retailer Walmart sought to make their first entrance to the Japanese market via e-commerce giant Rakuten. Our team developed a custom cloud-native Order Management System to manage inventory and order fulfillment across Japanese and US storefronts. We integrated across multiple partners to handle last mile delivery and fully landed shipping costs. Automation of regionalization and foreign exchange management minimized operational staffing needs and optimized workflows. All of this work was completed under an aggressive timeline in order to meet launch dates that were publicized prior to the engagement.
